How to Measure

It is essential to measure your dog's neck accurately because all our products are handmade to order and cannot be returned. Proper measurement ensures not only a perfect fit but also the comfort of your dog. After all, you wouldn’t want a collar that is too loose or too tight. By taking the time to measure correctly, you’re ensuring that your dog enjoys a custom-made product that fits just right.

step 1

Gather Your Materials

To get the most accurate measurement, it’s best to use a flexible measuring tape. Important! Do not measure your dog’s existing collar, as this can result in incorrect sizing. If you don’t have a flexible measuring tape, don’t worry! You can use a piece of string instead and then measure it against a ruler or a standard measuring tape.

And don’t forget the most important item: a tasty treat for your dog! Rewarding your pup after measuring helps make the process enjoyable and stress-free for both of you.

step 2

Position your dog

Ensure your dog is standing upright in their natural position. Locate the spot on their neck where the collar would normally sit—this is typically around the base of the neck. This step is crucial to get an accurate measurement for both comfort and proper fit.

step 3

Measure and Adjust

Using your flexible measuring tape or string, measure the circumference of your dog’s neck at the identified spot. Hold the tape snugly but not too tight. Always leave space for comfort—two fingers should fit between the measuring tape and your dog’s neck. If using a string, mark the length and measure it against a ruler. This ensures you get a measurement that’s both precise and comfortable for your dog.
